What happened after Food Paradise?
The episode featured Old Major, chef-butcher Justin Brunson's farm-to-table restaurant built around whole-animal butchery and locally raised meats in Denver's LoHi neighborhood. Old Major closed amid the COVID-19 dining restrictions, and Brunson chose to focus on his meat-processing business, River Bear Meats, rather than reopen the restaurant, according to Denverite (2020-08). Brunson had first opened Old Major as an extension of his butcher shop and meat business before redirecting his focus toward supplying restaurants and retailers through River Bear Meats, according to Denverite (2020-08). Chef Amos Watts opened a new restaurant, The Fifth String, in the former Old Major space at 3316 Tejon St in August 2020, according to BusinessDen (2020-07) and 303 Magazine. The Fifth String later relocated within Denver and, according to Yelp, had also closed by its most recent Larimer Street address, updated June 2026.
