Food Paradise's "Sandwich Paradise" (Season 1, Episode 10) featured the Peanut Butter & Co. sandwich shop, a Greenwich Village storefront that sold gourmet peanut butter sandwiches for $5 apiece, according to Wikipedia. Founder Lee Zalben opened the shop at 240 Sullivan Street in 1998 as an offshoot of his peanut butter brand, according to Wikipedia. A company announcement distributed via PRWeb on 2016-02-19 said the shop would close because the space was too small to showcase the brand's growing product line; Zalben said in the release, "it's just sooo small." AmNewYork reported on 2016-02-22 that the shop closed after more than 17 years and over a million sandwiches served. The Sullivan Street address is now occupied by an unrelated business, and no reopening under the Peanut Butter & Co. name has been reported since.
