What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

The Pinnacle Restaurant was the restaurant in Niagara Falls' Minolta Tower, the tower at 6732 Fallsview Boulevard. Rotten Tomatoes' listing for the episode (S1E11, aired 2005-06-14) names the Minolta Tower as the location, gives no street address, and says new owners of the Pinnacle wanted a New York chic style of restaurant. Google Play's description says the owners of a Niagara Falls tower restaurant wanted a sleek, upscale New York look in a town known for kitsch. RealityTVWorld's show page credits chef Lynn Crawford and designer Robin De Groot, and its table notes the restaurant as now part of the Tower Hotel.

Wikipedia's article on the Tower Hotel in Niagara Falls reports that the Pinnacle was the tower's original restaurant, an award-winning gourmet room on the 26th floor that operated there for many years, that the tower took the name Tower Hotel in 2010, and that the 26th-floor restaurant space later became an IHOP, after Marilyn's Bistro & Lounge. The article gives no dates for the Pinnacle's opening or end and does not mention Restaurant Makeover.

We found no description of what the team changed in the menu, decor or staffing beyond the New York concept, and no coverage of the relaunch. As RealityTVWorld and Wikipedia's article on the series describe the format, the owners' funds were matched up to $20,000 (later $15,000), but no source we read gives the figure for this episode.

On 2026-10-19 the Tower Hotel's website listed two dining options: the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse on its 26th floor and an IHOP serving breakfast. It did not mention the Pinnacle, and the page showed no date. A public Google Places listing for Pinnacle Restaurant at 6732 Fallsview Boulevard, checked the same day, is marked permanently closed. None of the sources we read gives a date for the Pinnacle's last day of service or a reason.
