What happened after Hotel Impossible?

Ritz Inn, a 30-room hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario, was the subject of the Hotel Impossible episode "Niagara Falls Down" (season 3, episode 10), which aired on the Travel Channel on 2013-10-14, according to TheTVDB. Hotel Impossible follows hospitality expert Anthony Melchiorri as he helps struggling hotels, and TheTVDB's episode summary describes the Ritz Inn as a budget hotel with an owner resistant to change, rooms in poor condition and a wedding chapel used for storage.

Actabl, a hotel operations software company, published a recap on 2013-10-16 that gives more detail. It describes a hotel about a ten-minute walk from the falls that had trouble drawing tourists, run by a family in which the owner made the maintenance, housekeeping and marketing decisions. Actabl listed these problems: cobwebs and stained comforters in guest rooms, holes in walls covered by decorations, old or broken furniture, a U-Haul rental business operating from the front desk, store-style signs and a giant ice cream cone at the entrance, a freezer and a treadmill kept in the wedding chapel, junk around the pool, a barbecue pit in the parking lot, and recent online reviews it called harsh.

According to Actabl, the changes shown included training the family in cleaning methods with a room checklist, a written family agreement on how disagreements would be decided, removal of the signs, ice cream cone, junk and the old hotel sign, replacement of broken furniture, new linens and bedding, deep-cleaned carpets, and renovated guest rooms, wedding chapel and lobby.

Since then, the hotel's own website, ritzinnniagara.com, has listed room types, amenities and a phone number, with a footer copyright of 2023-2024. In October 2026, Expedia's listing for Ritz Inn Niagara at 5630 Dunn St showed bookable rooms and a guest review dated October 16, 2026.
