What happened after Food Paradise?
The Food Paradise episode "Flame On!" (S19E9) featured Pono Burger, a Hawaiian-inspired burger counter that built its menu around grilled patties finished with island-style toppings and sauces. The restaurant operated on Broadway in downtown Santa Monica. Google Places lists the business status as permanently closed. A check of ponoburger.com in September 2026 found the domain returning only a bare server directory listing, with a stray error-log file dated July 2025, rather than a working restaurant website. No live menu, ordering system, or current hours could be found on the domain.
The directory listing also showed a leftover cgi-bin folder dated September 2023, a further sign of no recent site maintenance. No replacement business at the Broadway address, a block within downtown Santa Monica, was identified from the evidence available, and no announcement about relocation or new ownership was found.
