What happened after Food Paradise? 2 episodes

Part 1 — Season 11, Episode 8

Sarge's Deli appeared in the "Wild & Wacky" episode for its house-made pastrami, one of the few New York delis that cures its own, and for "The Monster," a sandwich stacked with pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, turkey and salami. Retired NYPD sergeant Abe Katz opened the 24-hour, kosher-style deli and diner on Third Avenue in Murray Hill in 1964, according to Wikipedia; Eater NY has named it one of the city's vital Jewish delis, per the restaurant's own site.

Part 2 — Season 8, Episode 4

"Deli-Licious" showcased Sarge's Delicatessen & Diner and its outsized sandwich, The Monster — a combination of pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, turkey, salami, lettuce, tomato and Russian dressing that the deli bills as one of New York's largest. Sarge's is a Jewish, kosher-style delicatessen in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood, opened in 1964 by Abe Katz, a retired NYPD sergeant, according to Wikipedia (revised 2026-07-11). The same source notes Sarge's is among the few New York delis that cures its own pastrami and makes rolled beef in-house, and that a 2012 three-alarm grease fire closed the restaurant for roughly 15 months before fourth-generation owner Andrew Wengrover reopened it in 2014.

According to Sarge's own website, checked 2026-09-09, the deli's copyright notice and menu content were current for 2026, with active pickup, delivery and catering ordering. Google Places listed the Third Avenue location as operational. Eater NY has separately named Sarge's one of the borough's notable Jewish delis, per Wikipedia.
