What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Soul Taco's Shockoe Slip location, in downtown Richmond, Virginia, in the episode "Meat Sampler" (aired 2020-01-17), spotlighting its Southern-inspired take on tacos. The restaurant operated at 1215 E Main St in the Shockoe Slip district of downtown Richmond. According to Yelp, whose listing for the location was updated in August 2026, the business is marked as closed, and a customer review on the same listing reported the closure several months earlier. Google Places separately lists the location's status as temporarily closed as of a 2026-09-08 check, while the restaurant's own soultacorva.com domain returned a blank page for the Shockoe Slip location on that date. No news coverage or official statement addressing the closure was found.
