What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Spirito's Italian Diner serves pizza and Italian entrees from a diner-style restaurant at 2508 El Camino Real in Carlsbad, California, according to the Visit Carlsbad tourism directory. A Yelp listing for that address, updated in August 2026, lists current hours of Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., extended to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the restaurant closed Mondays. The business maintains an active Instagram account under the handle @spiritosdiner. The restaurant's own website, spiritositaliandiner.com/welcome.html, returned an HTTP 404 error during a site check on 2026-09-08; that broken link reflects an outdated web address rather than a documented closure, since third-party listings continue to show the restaurant operating.
