What happened after Food Paradise?

In the 'Surf and Turf' episode, Square Bar & Grill was featured for pairing steak with shellfish on its surf-and-turf menu, alongside the casual bar fare typical of a neighborhood sports bar. Square Bar & Grill operated as a bar and restaurant on West Belmont Avenue in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood, open since 2009 according to Yelp. A Yelp listing, updated in September 2026, lists Square Bar & Grill as closed. The listing's reviews span the years the business was open but include none describing a reopening or a new operator at the address. The same Yelp page carries the label 'CLOSED' directly in its listing title and groups the restaurant under Yelp's American and sports-bar categories. No dated news coverage or owner statement about the closure was found.
