What happened after Best Thing I Ever Ate?
The episode featured Stroud's pan-fried chicken, served family-style with mashed potatoes, gravy, and warm cinnamon rolls, the dish the Fairway location was best known for. Stroud's Restaurant & Bar operated a location in Fairway, Kansas, for more than a decade before closing, according to the Johnson County Post. The Johnson County Post reported on 2021-03-17 that the vacant Fairway building had just been demolished to make way for a new retail development, after the restaurant itself closed there in October 2019. Stroud's continues to operate other locations in the Kansas City area, including Oak Ridge Manor and Overland Park, Kansas, according to the same reporting. No street address remains for the former Fairway site since the building no longer exists.
