Tea & Sympathy is a British restaurant and tea room in Manhattan's West Village, established in 1990 according to Wikipedia. The 22-seat restaurant at 108 Greenwich Avenue serves traditional English dishes such as shepherd's pie and bangers and mash alongside afternoon tea service, and sits beside an adjoining British grocery shop, Carry On Tea & Sympathy, at 110 Greenwich Avenue. Village Preservation, a local nonprofit, documented the restaurant's history on Greenwich Avenue in a piece dated 2020-12-23. According to Yelp, whose page for the restaurant was updated 2026-09, Tea & Sympathy continues to draw new reviews and photos, with more than 1,300 reviews logged. NYC Tourism's official visitor site also includes a current restaurant listing for Tea & Sympathy in the West Village. The companion import shop next door has operated alongside the restaurant for many years, according to the Village Preservation write-up.
