What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

You Gotta Eat Here! season 5, episode 19 aired on Food Network Canada on 2016-09-30 with host John Catucci. TVmaze's episode listing titles it "Homeskillet; The Combine Eatery; Burger Bar" and describes The Combine Eatery's featured food as Southwestern comfort food. The restaurant is listed under Toronto, Ontario. Google Maps lists a business named The Combine at 225 Wellington St W, Toronto, with the website thecombine.io. A check of thecombine.io on 2026-10-20 found a page that describes The Combine as a community-driven social club, with sections called Meet, Shop, Read and What, a launch party for DesignThinkers 2026 dated Oct 19-20, and a notice about the third issue of a magazine called Homemade. That check found no ordering tool on the site. The site does not describe a restaurant, and no source consulted for this entry links the current Combine to the eatery shown in the 2016 episode.

Stephanie Dickison's Open/Closed Toronto Restaurant News column for 26 September to 2 October 2019 reported that The Combine Eatery, which opened on the Danforth in 2011, closed in the first quarter of 2018 and was reborn as The Combine Reboot at 162 Danforth Avenue. NOW Toronto reported on 17 September 2019 that the eatery's space at 162 Danforth, at Broadview, had sat vacant for years and was apparently being converted into a new venture, the Combine Reboot. Toronto Life reported in July 2011 that siblings Albert and Amy Chan opened the eatery there, serving fish tacos.
