What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The George Hotel is a village pub with letting rooms on the High Street in Henfield, West Sussex. It featured in Series 15, episode 7 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired on 2019-07-18 under the title "The George Hotel, Henfield". According to TheTVDB's episode page, Alex Polizzi helped Chris and Leisha, a couple who had bought the 10-room pub a little over a year earlier. They had run out of money and energy and were having trouble attracting guests. Leisha was frustrated that Chris often got sidetracked, and Alex quickly settled on a rescue plan, though the episode asks whether the pair could carry it out. Wikipedia's list of Hotel Inspector episodes gives the same title and air date.

What has happened since: The Sussex Express reported on 2022-04-27 that the George Hotel, a former coaching inn which the paper said was first established in 1578, had been put up for rental. The agents, Fleurets, were inviting offers for a new free-of-tie lease on a property with 10 en-suite letting rooms, a 24-cover dining area, a main bar, a front bar and a pool room. The article did not name the current owner or operator. The Sussex branch pages of the Campaign for Real Ale list the George Hotel at High Street, Henfield BN5 9DB with weekly opening hours and the line that it is now part of the SK Hotels group. That page shows no update date beyond a 1971-2026 site copyright. Pub Wiki's Henfield entry, last updated 2026-02-10 as a web page, carries no notes on the pub's recent history.

Companies House lists SK George Hotel Henfield Ltd, company number 14243996, as incorporated on 2022-07-19, about twelve weeks after the Sussex Express reported the lease offer, and records confirmation statements filed in February and July 2026. According to Companies House, George Henfield Limited, whose registered office was the George Hotel on the High Street, was dissolved on 2019-06-04. A KAYAK listing checked 2026-10-20 shows The George Hotel at High Street, Henfield BN5 9DB, with rates offered for 26 to 27 October.
