What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Lenchford Inn, on the River Severn in Worcestershire, was the second episode of series 4 of The Hotel Inspector, with Alex Polizzi as host. ShowsPlus and TVDB list it as airing on Channel 5 on 2008-07-17. According to ShowsPlus, the inn was managed by two related couples about ten years apart in age who had bought it hoping to retire early. Four floods in two years and their inexperience had left their plans in doubt, and the couples disagreed on nearly everything. TVDB described nine bedrooms and an 80-seat restaurant that were rarely booked. Wikipedia's list of The Hotel Inspector episodes lists the location as Worcester and gives the problems as a poor-quality restaurant and unclear management roles. The inn is in Shrawley, near Worcester, WR6 6TB. The village website shrawley.org.uk, in a page on the inn's history under its earlier names Vernon Arms and Lencford Wharf, called it a pleasant public house in 2020. The inn's own website, viewed on 2026-10-19 and carrying no date, calls it The Lenchford Riverside Inn, a Georgian inn beside the Severn with six en-suite riverside rooms, a restaurant and bar with log burners, a booking link, and listed opening hours of 08:00 to 23:00 Monday to Saturday and 08:00 to 21:00 on Sunday. A Google Places record lists the business as operational. The name differs from the one used in the episode, and no source read says whether the ownership changed after the broadcast.

The CAMRA WhatPub listing for the Lenchford Riverside Inn at Lenchford, Shrawley (WR6 6TB), shows a last survey date of 26 September 2026 and a last update of 27 September 2026. It lists the building as a Georgian pub, hotel and restaurant that was refurbished in 2023 and renamed the Lenchford Riverside Inn, with opening hours of 10:00 to 23:00 Monday to Saturday and 10:00 to 20:00 on Sunday. The same listing names the freehold owner as Leased & Tenanted Pubs 1 Ltd and the operator as an individual, and gives Wye Valley Butty Bach and HPA as the regular beers.
