What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) visited the Little Thatch Inn in Quedgeley, a suburb of Gloucester, in the episode “Little Thatch Inn, Gloucester,” which aired 2015-05-21. Wikipedia's list of episodes calls it a 14th-century hotel, and its article on the property gives 1351 as the year the timber-framed building went up as two thatched houses, with use as a pub and hotel since 1967 and a Grade II listing in 1985. The article says Jacky McDougall ran the inn from 1970 and that the 2015 visit was to help the former owner. Punchline Gloucester, in an article dated 2018-06-20, reported that Polizzi came in 2015 to help Ms. McDougall and her daughter Beth Pullin settle differing views on the business's direction.

Punchline Gloucester reported the sale of the inn to the Hatton Collection, a group that already owned seven hotels and inns in the Cotswolds, Somerset and Jersey, with a guide price of £800,000 and Christie & Co handling the sale. The article said the new owner planned to refurbish all areas, starting with the bar and public areas. Wikipedia likewise records the 2018 sale to Hatton, though a citation on that page is dated 2016, which conflicts with its text.

The inn now trades as The Thatch Inn at 141 Bristol Road, Quedgeley. Its website, read on 2026-10-19, carries Hatton Hotels branding and a 2025 copyright line, and promotes an autumn offer from £159 for stays booked direct, a Christmas menu, and room and table booking links. The website does not mention the former name or the television episode.
