What happened after Food Paradise?
Food Paradise's "Hotel Hot Spots" episode featured the Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar, the Polynesian-themed lounge and restaurant on the lobby level of the Fairmont San Francisco atop Nob Hill. According to Wikipedia, the Fairmont was the vanguard property of what became the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain, and it was named for mining magnate and U.S. Senator James Graham Fair by his daughters, Theresa Fair Oelrichs and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt. Wikipedia also notes the hotel's eighth-floor presidential suite has hosted guests including Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. The Tonga Room's own website, checked on 2026-09-09, listed the bar and restaurant under the Fairmont's "Dine" section and carried a 2026 copyright date, according to tongaroom.com.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
