What happened after Hotel Impossible?
The University Inn at Emory in Atlanta, GA, appeared on Hotel Impossible (Travel Channel) in the season-four episode "Rat Race," which aired 2014-05-26. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution covered the visit, describing consultant Anthony Melchiorri's work with the family-owned inn near the Emory University campus and medical center. The University Inn at Emory is a 32-room, family-owned property at 1767 N Decatur Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, according to Yelp's listing for the business, which was updated in September 2026 and lists current guest reviews. Tripadvisor separately maintains a reviews page for the property, updated for 2026, and the inn's own website, univinn.com, describes ongoing operations serving Emory University, Emory University Hospital, Winship Cancer Institute, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the CDC.
The inn has been managed by the same family since the property opened in 1971, according to background information published by Campus Travel Management. No dated source found in this check indicates any closure, sale, or renaming of the property since its 2014 television appearance; current listings across multiple independent platforms, including Yelp and Tripadvisor, describe an active, bookable hotel operating under its original name at the same Decatur Road address. Anyone with more recent information about a change in ownership, name, or operating status at this address would add the next dated fact to this record; none had been found in the sources checked for this September 2026 update.
