What Happened to High Meadows Inn After Hotel Impossible?

High Meadows Inn & Nikola's Restaurant in Roaring Gap, NC, appeared on Hotel Impossible (Travel Channel) in the season-four episode "Swamped," which aired 2014-05-19, when consultant Anthony Melchiorri worked with the property's ownership on the inn and its on-site restaurant. A BringFido lodging directory listing for the property, checked 2026-09-09, marks High Meadows Inn as closed. The property's own web domain, highmeadowsinnnc.com, no longer displays content related to the inn; instead, the address currently returns an unrelated, foreign-language gambling-related website, a sign the domain registration has lapsed and passed to an unrelated third party.

Google Places separately lists the address at 10486 US-21, Roaring Gap, NC 28668, with an operational business status, but no current photos, hours, or 2026-dated reviews were found to support that status, and the listing does not appear to reflect the site's actual current use. No news article, licensing record, or dated social media post describing a specific closure date, sale, or change of ownership for the property was found in this check. A Facebook page under the name High Meadows Inn & Nikola's Restaurant exists, but its most recent activity is not dated. Taken together, the closed marking on the BringFido listing and the loss of the property's own web domain to unrelated content indicate the inn is no longer operating.
