What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) featured Windsors Hotel in Chertsey, Surrey, in an episode that aired on 19 August 2010 (series 6, episode 5). According to TheTVDB's episode page, host Alex Polizzi found a six-bedroom hotel where only about a quarter of the rooms were occupied. She praised the breakfast service and the food, but she told owner Mel White to refresh the outdated decor, pay closer attention to detail, and reclassify the property as a guest house. The show's episode list on Wikipedia calls the property Windsors Hotel B&B and mentions poor decor and dated furnishings.
What has happened since is not documented in the sources read. A web search for the hotel returned no page for the business itself, and a Google Maps lookup on the featured name matched a different business, Windsor Wine & Dine on Windsor Street, Chertsey (KT16 8AY), which Google lists as operational. That name differs from the one shown on television, and no source read connects it to the hotel, either as a later name or as a separate business, so it has not been used as this entry's location.
The episode itself is the only dated source for this entry. TheTVDB's page and Wikipedia's list agree on the town, the 2010 air date and the guest-house advice, but neither gives an address, a website, or any later information about the owner or the building. The Hotel Inspector, which has run on Channel 5 since 2005, sends Polizzi to struggling British hotels, guest houses and inns to advise their owners, so the episode records the business as it stood at filming and not as it stands now.
A Google Maps search for Windsors Hotel in Chertsey, checked 2026-10-20, returned no listing for the business, open or closed, and no website or recent online review for it was found that day.
