4 Star Diner, a classic American diner in Cortland, Ohio owned by Konstantinos "Gus" Kouvas and his wife, Avgi, appeared in the second half of the season 10 premiere of Kitchen Nightmares, which aired July 21, 2026 after filming in June 2025, more than a year before the episode reached air. As shown in the episode, Gus's vulgar and combative manner toward staff and customers was driving both away, compounding whatever problems existed with the diner's food and service; an earlier Tripadvisor review from before the show's involvement had also flagged cleanliness concerns and rude treatment of customers in prior years, underscoring long-running friction at the address. Ahead of the broadcast, the diner promoted its upcoming appearance on its own Facebook page.

Ramsay's team gave the diner a lighting and decor refresh, cleaned and reorganized the kitchen, and introduced a new menu aimed at addressing the diner's food and service problems. According to the fan site Kitchen Nightmares Updates, which reviewed comments and listings after the episode aired, the diner did not keep the new menu Ramsay's team introduced and returned to its previous offerings, though Gus said he had learned from the experience. In a video interview shared by that same fan site, Kouvas said business had increased since the show aired.

Reviews on Google and Yelp since the makeover have been mixed: several diners praised the food, service and updated decor, while others described a return to the old menu and inconsistent food quality, with one reviewer criticizing gravy served with a turkey dinner. In a September 2026 check, a Tripadvisor listing for the diner showed current operating hours at its North Mecca Street address, with 36 accumulated reviews, though the most recent individually dated review there predated 2025.
