What happened after Food Paradise?
The Band Box Diner is a small, historic diner in the Elliot Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, modeled architecturally on the White Castle chain but built entirely by local owners, according to Wikipedia (revised 2026-08-11). The same Wikipedia entry describes the diner opening in 1939 under Harry and Bert Wyman, who built 15 Band Box locations before selling the chain in 1953; by 1972 this Minneapolis location was the only one remaining, and owners who purchased it in 1998 hired architects Robert Roscoe and Karen Gjerstad to restore and expand the building. A restaurant listing page (bandboxdiner.xyz), checked 2026-09-08, lists the diner's address as 729 S 10th St, hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a 4.5-star rating from 755 reviews. A Google Places listing checked 2026-09-08 also lists the business as operational.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
