The Original Oyster House is a seafood restaurant and raw bar in Pittsburgh's Market Square, serving oysters and fish sandwiches since 1870 and billed by Visit Pittsburgh as the city's oldest restaurant and bar. According to a Pennsylvania governor's office press release (April 22, 2026) marking the $15 million modernization of Market Square, the Original Oyster House was named as one of 49 businesses supported by the square, and owner Jen Grippo said the improved public space would 'bring in new ideas' and give people 'more reasons to come downtown.' The restaurant's own website, checked 2026-09-08, listed hours of Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday noon to 8 p.m., though the site's copyright notice and other page text dated to 2021.
