Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Bok a Bok in the episode "Far East Flavorfest," aired August 31, 2018, for its Korean-style fried chicken, served in sandwiches and alongside sides like kimchi mac and cheese. The chain began in Seattle's White Center neighborhood and later expanded to Burien, the University District, Capitol Hill, and Kirkland, according to Wikipedia. By July 2025 only the Capitol Hill location remained, and Capitol Hill Seattle News reported in January 2026 that the shop had closed after suffering major kitchen damage, with owner Brian O'Connor hoping for a spring reopening. That comeback did not happen: according to Wikipedia, revised August 25, 2026, O'Connor announced in August 2026 that the restaurant would not reopen. The chain's former Capitol Hill address is now home to Pelicana Chicken, an unrelated fried-chicken business.
