Local coverage from the Colorado Springs Gazette previewed the show's visit as an attempt to fix a bar dealing with inconsistent drink and food quality and a tired identity that had not distinguished it from other bars along South Nevada Avenue. Jon Taffer's team redesigned the interior, retooled the bar and food program, and renamed the business Garrison Tavern, giving it a military-adjacent identity referencing the city's strong ties to nearby military installations.

The turnaround did not last, and for an unusual reason. According to Bar Rescue Updates' account of the production's own follow-up, the bar's owner listed Garrison Tavern for sale within about a week of Jon Taffer's on-site visit, months before the episode had even aired on television, suggesting the decision to exit the business was made almost immediately after the cameras left, regardless of how the rebrand ultimately tested with customers.

Garrison Tavern continued operating under its new name for roughly a year after the televised rescue before closing. According to Bar Rescue Updates, Garrison Tavern closed in August 2017, close to the one-year anniversary of the original "Bar Rescue" visit, ending the bar's run under the name the show had given it.
