On Best Thing I Ever Ate's "Nutty" episode, Michael Psilakis picked the butter pecan ice cream at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, then operating out of a converted 1922 fireboat house at 1 Water Street on the Fulton Ferry Landing Pier in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood. According to Wikipedia, that original space was taken over by an Ample Hills Creamery outpost in June 2019, which was itself replaced by a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shop in May 2023; Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory operated from a temporary Greenpoint location until March 2021, when it reopened across the street from its original spot at 14 Old Fulton Street. The business's own website, checked in September 2026, lists that Old Fulton Street address and current contact information, showing the business is still trading under the same name at its new location.
