What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Food Network) visited Byways Cafe in Portland's Pearl District for the July 2007 episode "Retro," where Guy Fieri sampled the diner's American breakfast and brunch fare, including corned beef hash, omelets, and pancakes. Owners Collin McFadden and Megan Brinkley opened Byways in 1999, and readers of The Oregonian voted it the city's best brunch spot in 2016. Willamette Week reported on 2019-11-15 that the owners announced Byways would close by the end of the year after they could not reach a new lease agreement with the landlord, who had held the building up for sale for nearly two years. KOIN reported the closure the same week, and the Portland Mercury covered it in its November 2019 food news roundup.
