What happened after Food Paradise?

The episode featured Café Bavaria, a German-themed bar and restaurant known for schnitzel, sausages, and other Bavarian-style beer-hall fare. The business operated in the Tosa Village district of Wauwatosa, just west of Milwaukee, as part of the Lowlands Group's restaurant portfolio. According to an Urban Milwaukee press release dated 2019-10-16, the group announced Café Bavaria would close to the public after a New Year's Day brunch on January 1, 2020, to be replaced by a new Northwoods-inspired concept called The Buckatabon, which the release said was targeting a February 2020 opening following an interior remodel.

A Yelp listing for the business, updated July 2026, still marks Café Bavaria as closed, and Google's Places record likewise lists the location's business status as permanently closed. The Café Bavaria domain has since been repurposed with unrelated blog content unconnected to the original restaurant.
