What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
On Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode 'Regional Classics' (aired 2009-02-16), Guy Fieri visited Cecilia's Café for its New Mexican comfort food and chile-based cooking. Cecilia's Café was a New Mexican cuisine restaurant on the corner of 6th Street and Silver Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, run by owner Cecilia Baca for about 25 years. According to Gil's Thrilling (and Filling) Blog (nmgastronome.com), Baca closed the cafe in December 2024, citing recurring problems with people experiencing homelessness near the restaurant, difficulty finding staff, and the shift toward remote and hybrid office work downtown. Yelp's listing for the business, updated June 2026, continues to mark it permanently closed, and no reopening or successor business has been reported at the address.
