What happened after Food Paradise?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' 'Stuffed' episode featured Central Gyros for its Greek specialties, including gyros, souvlaki, and moussaka, at a counter-service shop that has served Chicago's Northwest Side for more than 50 years and inspired Food Network personality Jeff Mauro's own homemade gyro recipe, according to the restaurant's own website. The shop sits on North Central Avenue, a residential commercial strip in the Belmont Cragin area. Since the broadcast, the restaurant's website, checked 2026-09-08, lists hours running from 11:30 a.m. most weekdays, closed Tuesdays, with an online-ordering option still active on the site. Food Network's own restaurant directory continues to list Central Gyros among its featured Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives stops, consistent with the current hours, ordering page, and social-media links on the shop's site.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
