What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

The Restaurant Makeover episode titled "Country Fish and Chips" aired on Food Network Canada on 2008-10-27, the fourth episode of the fifth season. The Rotten Tomatoes episode guide gives one line about it: a battle between top chef Corbin and design maven Meredith threatened to halt the makeover. Wikipedia's list of the show's renovated restaurants spells the name County Fish and Chips and places it in Port Credit, the Mississauga lakeshore neighborhood. The episode title and the shop's own website both use Country. Neither the guide nor the list says what the pair changed, what the budget was, or how the relaunch went, so those details are not given here.

The shop's website, countryfishandchips.com, lists the address as 293 Lakeshore Rd. E., Mississauga, with the phone number 905-278-8201, and tells visitors who want delivery to look for the shop on Skip the Dishes. The page title calls the shop "Simply the Best," and a line on the page speaks of a history others cannot compete with. The site shows no hours, no dates and no ordering link. Its page code carries a 2012 build stamp, and the server reported the page last modified on 2022-01-17, so the site alone does not show that the shop is operating now.

The travel-planning site Wanderlog lists the shop at the same address with hours of 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, and closed Sunday and Monday. The page, read on 2026-10-19, shows a Google rating of 4.5 from 487 reviews and a Tripadvisor rating of 4.0 from 28 reviews, and describes a family business spanning five generations. Its summary of reviews mentions crispy batter, friendly staff and nautical decor. Wanderlog gives no dates for the hours or the reviews. A Google Places record read on 2026-10-19 lists the business at the same address as operational.

The sources read do not show what the makeover altered in the menu, decor or staffing, whether the shop closed for the renovation, or whether the name changed afterward; the shop's current site and the Wanderlog page both use the name Country Fish & Chips. Wikipedia's table marks the shop as still open, with no note, which agrees with the listing but adds no date of its own.
