What happened after Bar Rescue?
Eliphino Dive and Dine was a bar in Las Vegas, Nevada, owned by John McDonald, whose venue combined a full liquor program with a leased-out kitchen that he had concluded was too costly to run himself. The "Un-Civil War" episode, broadcast April 28, 2019, found an ice machine that amounted to little more than a cooler filled with bagged ice, several beer taps sitting unused, and a business identity built around a joking portmanteau name describing what you get when you merge an elephant and a rhino, which the rescue team viewed as part of the bar's broader lack of direction. Recon visits also turned up slow drink service and a kitchen menu that guests found confusing given the bar's limited staff and equipment.
During the visit, the rescue team worked through the show's standard process of recon, stress testing, and staff retraining before renaming the bar The Shattered Bar as part of a broader concept overhaul intended to give the venue a clearer identity than its predecessor had. The relaunch introduced new signage, updated bar equipment, and a streamlined drink menu built around the taps that had previously gone unused. At the show's six-week follow-up, the owner reported sales up more than 30% and said he intended to keep using the new name going forward.
Despite that early report, The Shattered Bar closed in October 2018, about six months before the episode aired on television, according to Reality TV Updates, which tracks outcomes of Bar Rescue episodes. A Yelp listing for the Desert Inn Road address, updated in August 2026, shows the venue listed as closed under both its rescue-era and original names, and no reporting was found describing any business currently operating at that address. The bar's run therefore ended well before most viewers ever saw the episode that documented its renovation, one of several instances in the show's history where a featured business had already shut down by the time its rescue aired.
