Is Gastro Grind Burgers Still Open? Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Update

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Season 35 Palm Desert, California

Current status

Open

As of October 2026, Gastro Grind Burgers is open — confirmed via Yelp, August 2026.

What the source shows: A Yelp listing updated in August 2026 shows current hours and hundreds of recent reviews, and a fan-site DDD locations page updated 2026-02-04 still lists the business as a current show location, both dated more recently than the Google Places temporary-closure flag. What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Gastro Grind Burgers in Palm Desert, California for the 'Stellar Sandwiches and Big-Time Burgers' episode, which aired August 5, 2022, highlighting the restaurant's specialty burger menu. Gastro Grind operates from a shopping-center suite on Highway 111 in Palm Desert. A Google Places business record checked on September 8, 2026 flagged the location as temporarily closed. A Yelp listing for the restaurant, last updated in August 2026, shows 583 photos and 722 reviews along with current weekly hours covering every day except Tuesday.

A separate Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives fan-site locations page for the restaurant was last updated February 4, 2026 and continued to list the business among current show locations. The restaurant's own ordering website displayed a generic script-loading placeholder rather than restaurant-specific content during the September 8, 2026 check. The Yelp and fan-site updates are both dated more recently than the Google Places closure flag, and neither reports a closure of the business.
