What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Germain's Chicken Sandwiches, a Gainesville quick-service restaurant built around its namesake fried chicken sandwiches, in the episode "Specialty Spots" (aired 2025-05-02). The restaurant is located at 220 NW 8th Ave in Gainesville, according to Google Places. Since the episode, the business's own ordering site has stayed active: a check on 2026-09-08 found the page returning HTTP 200 with a live online-ordering system, and the site's server reported the page had been updated that same day. Google Places separately lists the restaurant as operational at that address. The fresh site update and the operating Places listing are the most recent signals available; neither source describes any change in ownership or name since the DDD segment aired.
