What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured El Palote Panaderia, a Dallas eatery that bills itself as a vegan Mexican kitchen despite its Spanish name meaning bakery, in the episode "Specialty Spots" (aired 2025-05-02). The business sits at 2537 S Buckner Blvd, according to Google Places, and its own website emphasizes plant-based takes on traditional Mexican dishes. Since the episode, El Palote's website has kept posting current information: a 2026-09-08 check found the page carrying a mid-May 2026 last-modified date (2026-05-17), 2026 as the latest year appearing in the page's own text, and posted weekly hours running from Wednesday through Saturday. Google Places lists the restaurant as operational at the same address. The 2026-dated page and the posted hours are the most recent facts available about the business, according to its own site and Google Places.
