What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Big Lee's BBQ in the episode "A World of Meat," which aired March 31, 2023 (S37E4), highlighting the restaurant's smoked barbecue. Big Lee's is a barbecue restaurant at 2611 SW 19th Avenue Rd in Ocala. A Yelp listing for that address, updated May 2026, showed posted weekly hours, closed Monday and open Tuesday through Sunday, and carried no closure notice. The restaurant's own site, mybigleesbbq.com, blocked automated browsing but remains indexed with an active online store page and a linked Facebook page.

A separate Yelp page for a barbecue business under a similar name at a different Ocala address, 3925 SE 45th Ct, is marked permanently closed; that location does not match the address tied to this restaurant. No dated source was found indicating a closure at the 19th Avenue Road location.
