What happened after Restaurant Stakeout?

"Restaurant Stakeout" season 5's "Ciao, Vegas!" (episode 6, aired July 16, 2014) followed Willie Degel to Gina's Bistro, an Italian restaurant on South Durango Drive in Las Vegas. Food Network's episode synopsis describes owner Riccardo as a young Italian immigrant trying to build a version of the American Dream out of the restaurant, with the episode framed around whether Degel could turn the business around before Riccardo was forced to close and return to Italy. Wikipedia's article on the show notes that a 2012 realityblurred.com report concluded the program's hidden-camera confrontations are staged and scripted rather than documentary footage.

The show's typical format has Degel install surveillance to observe the floor and kitchen, then confront the owner with what the cameras recorded and order changes to menu, staffing, or service before reopening. Current listings indicate the restaurant did not survive long-term: Yelp's page for Gina's Bistro at 4226 S. Durango Drive was marked permanently closed as of an update in May 2026, and a separate restaurant directory, usmenuguide.com, also lists the business as closed, though without a specific closure date. No successor business name or reopening announcement was found at the address in available sources.
