What Happened to Harbor Point Club & Grill After Bar Rescue?

"John and Bert Bought a Bar," which aired 2019-07-28, sent Jon Taffer to Harbor Point Club & Grill in Richardson, Texas, where the show's own episode description says the owners were drinking away the bar's profits while staff struggled to fill even a single order correctly. Suspecting the owners might be exaggerating their situation for television, Taffer initially told them he was canceling the rescue in favor of a different bar; when the owners reacted with genuine distress at the news, he concluded their problems were real and moved forward with the visit. The recon and stress test at Harbor Point focused on basic service breakdowns and a lack of accountability behind the bar, patterns consistent with the description the show's synopsis gave.

For the relaunch, Taffer's team renamed the bar JB Taco, shifting the concept toward a taco-and-bar format and giving the space new branding, bar equipment, and staff training aimed at fixing the service problems documented during recon. The JB Taco name did not remain in place for long: Texas liquor-license records show the bar's permit, held by Harbor Point Private Club Inc., expired on April 15, 2020, and a new company was licensed at the address that September. By September 2020, the address at the northwest corner of Buckingham and Jupiter, in a shopping center anchored by an Albertsons grocery store, had become home to Good Vibes Bar & Grill, a live-music and sports bar under different ownership with no connection to the original Harbor Point or JB Taco operators.

Good Vibes Bar & Grill continues to operate at that Buckingham Road address as of 2026. Its official website advertises daily hours from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., a full kitchen, pool tables, karaoke, and weekly live music, and a business-review listing for the bar was updated in July 2026 with dozens of accumulated customer reviews. The current operator has no relationship to the bar as it was originally featured on Bar Rescue, and the venue today bears no resemblance in name or concept to either Harbor Point Club & Grill or its Taffer-era rebrand.
