What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Highland Fried was a fried chicken, barbecue, and tiki-drink restaurant in the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts, at 1271 Cambridge St. According to Boston.com, the restaurant opened in December 2017 and became known locally as Inman Square's spot for fried chicken and pit-smoked barbecue. It appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in the episode "Northern Southern," which aired 2019-11-08, with the show spotlighting the restaurant's fried chicken. Boston.com reported on 2021-09-30 that Highland Fried had permanently closed, after the business first announced a pause in operations on 2021-09-08. A Boston Restaurant Talk post from September 2021 corroborated the closure. This record's location had previously been mismatched to an unrelated restaurant in Somerville, Massachusetts; the address has been corrected to Highland Fried's actual Inman Square site.
