What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

Restaurant Makeover (HGTV Canada / Food Network Canada) featured Hollywood Panini, a panini shop in Richmond Hill, Ontario, in an episode that aired on 2008-10-06. According to the Rotten Tomatoes episode description, the shop was bare-bones and had been bought a year earlier by a hardworking couple, and the description uses a film-industry phrase to say it was a box-office disappointment. Wikipedia's Restaurant Makeover table credits chef Massimo Capra and designer Glen Peloso with the episode. It is the last of the 26 episodes in the season 4 listing on Rotten Tomatoes and the only one dated October 2008; the others run from 2007-10-01 to 2008-06-16. No source that was found describes the couple, the specific problems, what was changed in the menu, decor or staff during the rescue, or how the relaunch went, so none of that is described here.

For the years since, the sources are a map listing and a lead. A Google Places listing for Hollywood Panini at 9631 Yonge St in Richmond Hill, retrieved on 2026-10-19, was marked permanently closed. The listing's name matches the featured name and the town matches the one given for the episode. Wikipedia's table lists the shop as no longer open and notes that it became Greek Xpress. A web search for the shop name with Greek Xpress and Yonge Street returned Greek Xpress locations in New York and unrelated panini listings; none was a Richmond Hill business, so the Greek Xpress note could not be confirmed.

No news article or owner announcement about the end of Hollywood Panini was found, so no date or reason can be given for the listing's status. The Places status reflects the listing as retrieved on 2026-10-19, not the date of any closure. Wikipedia's table is a lead rather than a dated source, and the pages read do not state the street address of the shop seen on screen, so the match rests on the name and town.
