What happened after Food Paradise?
Food Paradise's 2013 'Cheese Paradise' episode (Season 4, Episode 19) showcased Homeroom, an Oakland restaurant built around stovetop mac and cheese, offering a build-your-own selection of classic and specialty cheese blends alongside salads, sides, and sweets. The restaurant operates on Webster Street and also runs a rewards program and catering service, according to its website. In September 2026 the restaurant's website listed a newly opened second location, noting Homeroom had opened in Berkeley's Gilman District with daily hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to homeroom510.com.
The same site's September 2026 menu still featured Homeroom's all-inclusive mac and cheese section, sides, and a dedicated drinks list, plus a seasonal Chicken Pot Pie Mac, according to homeroom510.com. Google's business listing for the Oakland address, checked the same month, also marked the restaurant operational.
