What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives featured Jamaican Jerk Hut in the episode "Timeless Traditions," aired 2013-06-24, spotlighting the restaurant's jerk chicken and other Caribbean specialties. Jamaican Jerk Hut was a family-run Caribbean restaurant at 1436 South Street in Philadelphia, operated by Lisa Wilson, who took over the business from her family in 2007. According to 6abc, the South Street location closed roughly five years before a November 2024 report, placing the shutdown around 2019, and the business later reopened serving the same menu from the Concourse at Comcast Center. A Yelp listing updated in August 2026 still marks the South Street address as permanently closed. The restaurant's former website domain now redirects to unrelated third-party content, with no current listing found for the business at the South Street location.
