What happened after Food Paradise?

LaPlace Frostop served root beer floats in frosted mugs alongside burgers and onion rings from its drive-in-style counter on East Airline Highway in LaPlace, Louisiana. The restaurant traces its roots to the regional Frostop root-beer chain and has marked decades in business along the same highway corridor west of New Orleans. The restaurant's own site carries a 2016 copyright, but according to Yelp, the business's listing was updated in August 2026 with continued reviews and no closure notice. Yelp's listing carries the same East Airline Highway address and phone number shown on the restaurant's own site, indicating the drive-in continues to operate under the same name.
