What Happened to Levanti's Italian Restaurant After Kitchen Nightmares?

Levanti's Italian Restaurant opened in Beaver, Pennsylvania, in 1998, when Dino Fratangeli, fresh out of college, opened the business with his father Tony's life savings; his sister Tina later gave up her own flower shop to come help run the dining room. As business increased and then declined amid new competition, the siblings' working relationship deteriorated -- Dino left the business for roughly a year and a half over the conflict before returning -- and Tony had put in $250,000 of his own money by the time Ramsay arrived. The Kitchen Nightmares episode, filmed in mid-2012 and aired February 1, 2013, showed Ramsay finding an unclean kitchen, an olive oil so old it had gone rancid, a three-week-old dessert, and a steak he had ordered medium-rare that came out raw inside; Ramsay's on-air verdict, delivered during that visit, was that the food ranked among the poorest he had encountered while filming the series, a judgment specific to that visit rather than a lasting rating.

What has happened since: Gazette Review reported, on February 2, 2022, that Levanti's closure came in November 2013, about a year after the episode aired, with the restaurant's Yelp rating having fallen to 2.5 stars across 18 reviews by that point. The business was later sold to Rich Montini, an executive chef at PNC Park, who reopened the space under a new name, Heirloom, offering scratch-made items including tortillas, bratwurst sandwiches, crab cakes, and pasta. Heirloom's official Facebook page announced the sit-down restaurant would close in 2018, after five years in business, while continuing its catering operation; Gazette Review reported that as of 2026 the original Levanti's storefront remained unoccupied, with a photography studio and apartments having opened nearby. A Yelp listing associated with the address remains marked permanently closed as of a September 2026 update.
