What happened after Bar Rescue?
Lucky 66 Bowl was a bowling and entertainment venue in the Los Ranchos de Albuquerque area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. By the time Bar Rescue's Jon Taffer arrived for the episode "Gutterball!" (aired 2020-03-08, filmed in August 2019 according to Bar Rescue Updates), the business had fallen into the kind of financial trouble the show typically addresses. Taffer's crew renovated the space and, according to Bar Rescue Updates, renamed the business Great 66 Entertainment Center. The rebrand did not hold. Bar Rescue Updates reported that the business was forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not reopen; the owners said in a January 2021 statement that pandemic conditions and state closure orders had created hardships and financial challenges the company could not overcome, and followed up in June 2021 saying the financial requirements to reopen after more than a year of governor-ordered closure were more than they could handle.
Yelp's listing for Lucky 66 Bowl at 6132 4th St NW, updated 2026-05, marks the business closed and shows 22 reviews and 13 photos from its years of operation. The bowling-and-bar concept does not appear to have reopened under a new name or ownership at the address; no 2026-dated coverage of continued operation was found. Its Facebook page, "Lucky 66 Bowl & Volleyball," remains online but was not checked for recent activity in this search. Bar Rescue's format calls for a follow-up assessment roughly six weeks after a makeover; no source in this search reported that check-in's results for Lucky 66 Bowl specifically, and the venue's pre-rescue interior problems are not detailed in the sources reviewed for this record.
The venue combined bowling lanes with a full bar, a dual concept the episode's "Gutterball!" title referenced directly. New Mexico's pandemic-era closure orders affected entertainment venues including bowling alleys for extended periods across 2020 and into 2021, the timeframe the owners cited for their inability to reopen.
