What happened after Food Paradise?
This Santa Cruz Boardwalk business was featured in "Bacon Paradise" (S2E1) under the name Martini's at the Beach, evidently a mis-transcription of Marini's at the Beach, a candy and confectionery shop rather than a restaurant serving bacon dishes. Marini's has made and sold candy on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk since 1915, offering salt water taffy, hand-dipped chocolates, caramels, English toffee, rocky road, fudge, caramel apples, and ice cream. According to Yelp, whose listing for the shop was updated 2026-05, the business remains active at 400 Beach St, Santa Cruz.
The shop also operates its own e-commerce website selling its candy line to customers outside the Boardwalk. Founded more than a century ago, Marini's is among the longest-running vendors at the Boardwalk, and no indication of a closure or ownership change was found.

We work hard to keep every status accurate and dated, but restaurants change fast and our sources aren't perfect. If something here is wrong — a status, a name, an address, anything — tell us what you're seeing and where you saw it, and we'll check it.
