What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Meat Boss Cottage Hill in Mobile, Alabama, for its smoked barbecue in the episode "Smokin' Southern Decadence" (aired 2023-12-29). According to the restaurant's own site, the business opened in 2012 and built its menu around whole smoked meats, including brisket, ribs, and turkey, plus its Boss Burger, made from a hand-patted, in-house ground brisket-and-chuck blend, and a lineup of five house barbecue sauces. A Yelp listing for the 5401 Cottage Hill Road location was updated 2026-09 and showed 514 reviews, and Google's business listing for the same address shows it as operational. The restaurant's own website, meatboss.com, remained reachable when checked 2026-09-08 but displayed an older 2016 copyright notice, indicating that particular page had not been refreshed as recently as the Yelp listing.
