What the source shows: The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on October 4, 2023 that BabyStacks owner Liberty Hung, who took over MTO Cafe's lease in 2021, would close MTO for up to eight weeks and remodel the space as a copy of her other BabyStacks restaurants, opening it as the chain's eighth location in early 2024. What happened after Food Paradise?

The Food Paradise episode "Viva Las Vegas" (S16E9) featured MTO Cafe, a downtown Las Vegas breakfast-and-comfort-food spot across from City Hall. The cafe built its menu around scratch-made plates such as a country benedict, classic pancakes, chicken and waffles, and a spicy chicken club sandwich, drawing on fresh, seasonal ingredients. MTO Cafe opened in the downtown Fremont Street area in 2013, according to Home Cooking Memories. In October 2023, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that MTO Cafe would close and the space would be remodeled into BabyStacks Cafe, that chain's eighth location, opening in early 2024 under a five-year city lease extension approved by the Las Vegas City Council; BabyStacks Cafe, a different restaurant, has operated at 500 S. Main St. since. Yelp's listing for MTO Cafe was marked closed in a July 2026 update.
