As shown in the episode, owner Marina was struggling to keep the pizza restaurant viable, and Robert Irvine's team stepped in for the show's standard two-day renovation of the menu, kitchen operations, and dining room.

Following the broadcast, the restaurant saw an initial jump in business, but according to Marina's own account, reported by local radio outlet Banana 101.5, the boost lasted only about two months before it faded. Marina told the outlet that many of Paliani's longtime regulars did not care for the changes Irvine's team had made to the menu and dining room, and that dissatisfaction contributed directly to the decline that followed the initial surge in ways the show could not reverse.
