What happened after Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives visited Sidecar Bar & Grill in Brooklyn's Park Slope for the 'Family Matters' episode that aired 2012-02-06, spotlighting the neighborhood bar and its comfort-food menu. The bar operated at 560 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope for 15 years, according to a Time Out New York report. Time Out reported that co-owner Bart DeCoursy announced Sidecar's closure would take effect at the end of January 2022, citing the loss of pandemic-era aid after the business did not receive funding it had sought through the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

A Yelp listing for the address, updated September 2026, continues to mark Sidecar as permanently closed. Location data initially associated with this record pointed to a differently named business at a separate Brooklyn address; that has been corrected to Sidecar's own 560 Fifth Avenue address based on the sources above.
