What happened after Man v. Food?
On Man v. Food (S3E4, aired 2010-06-30), Adam Richman took on The Black Sheep's oversized, multi-tiered sandwich, nicknamed the Battleship, at the restaurant's Marshall Street location in Richmond's Carver neighborhood. The Black Sheep served Southern- and Cajun-influenced fare from a rowhouse space near Virginia Commonwealth University. Richmond magazine has reported that the restaurant's run at that address lasted about a decade before its lease ended, and that owner Kevin Roberts subsequently opened a different concept in another part of the city rather than reopening The Black Sheep.
A Yelp listing for 901 W Marshall St, updated 2026-08, still marks the location as permanently closed, consistent with Google's current listing, which marks the address permanently closed. The business's old Facebook page, checked 2026-09-08, now returns only a generic error rather than active content.
